Three Friends

Reception: October 14, 5:30 pm; artists' talk: 7:00 pm

John Abromowski, Steve Mason and Aaron Usher have been friends for a long time. More importantly, they share a vast legacy of photography culture, wit, philosophy and knowledge. Their work embodies a combined lineage of adventures, stories, anecdotes and just good times and bad. They have criticized each other, praised each other, belittled, badgered and bitched at each other. All this because of the one thing in common they hold in high regard: image making.

The three friends formed a group embracing both old and new technologies. 47/6, named from the periodic table of the elements carbon and silver, for the newer archival carbon pigment inkjet prints and for the traditional silver darkroom prints. This is the process for creating three very different visual approaches the friends have in common.

The exhibit will be on display in the Pawtucket Arts Collaborative Gallery September 19 through October 22. Join the artists as they discuss their work after the opening reception on October 14, 5:30 to 7:00 pm.
